Black Lake is in northern Saskatchewan within the Athabasca Basin Region. The Athabasca Basin area covers almost a quarter of Saskatchewan and a small portion of Alberta. The region is the most inaccessible and least environmentally disturbed area in Saskatchewan. Within the region, natural wonders such as Hunts Falls, Douglas River, and the Athabasca Sand Dunes provide breathtaking scenery and are some of the most unique ecosystems in the world.

Goals

  • Formalize planning, roles and responsibilities around land use management in the community.
  • Address community land use and environmental concerns.
  • Explore and pursue land use development opportunities.
